Overview:

LodgeiT uses information from the ATO to determine due dates. However, the due date shown on the form may sometimes differ from the due date displayed in the LodgeiT dashboard or currently shown by the ATO.

This is because due dates are synchronised and updated at different points in the LodgeiT workflow.

Lodgment Due Date:

  • If the due date is not manually set, LodgeiT automatically synchronises it with the ATO every 5 days in the background.
  • The LodgeiT dashboard due date should therefore reflect the current ATO due date after synchronisation.
  • The due date shown on the printed form is updated when the user clicks Prefill.
  • Once the form is completed, LodgeiT does not update its data, so the printed form may show an older due date if the ATO subsequently changes it.
  • If the due date is manually set, LodgeiT will not synchronise it with the ATO.

Recommendation:

Rely on the ATO due date or LodgeiT dashboard due date for the current lodgment due date.

Payment Due Date:

  • The payment due date is sourced from the ATO and updated in the form when the user clicks Prefill.
  • Once the form is completed, the payment due date becomes read-only and is not automatically updated.
  • If the ATO later changes the payment due date, the printed form may show the previous date.

Recommendation: Check the current payment due date with the ATO if there is a discrepancy with a completed form.
