What is an Outside Collaborator?
An Outside Collaborator is a special role in LodgeiT designed for external users who need access to specific clients or work within your organisation without full access to your team or broader business information. They only see and work on what is explicitly assigned to them.
How to Add an Outside Collaborator in LodgeiT
1. Access Team Settings:
- Go to the main account settings by clicking the Gear Wheel (main settings)
- Select Teams to manage your user and collaborator access.
2. Invite an Outside Collaborator:
- Within the Teams section, choose to Invite Member.
- Enter the email address of the external user to invite.
- Assign the role Outside Collaborator for limited access.
3. Send Invitation:
- Send the invitation to the collaborator.
- The recipient will receive an email to accept the invitation and set up their access.
4. Manage Outside Collaborator Access:
- Once accepted, you can manage their permissions similarly to other team members but limited to their assigned scope.
- You can always revoke or modify their access under Team management.
Note - Below illustration is how to assign a specific client to a Team Member:
Click "Clients:
Put a check mark to select a client which you wanted to assign as Member and then click the dropdown arrow under the "Assign" button. Then click the member that you wanted to assign as member to the client (e.g. is to click "AC Doe", which has an outside collaborator access for illustration purpose). A check mark will show in the right side of the team member name (see image below) which indicate that you selected it.
Once a member is assigned to a client, you will see that the initial (e.g is "AD") of the member name in client details.
