Prompt: Request PartyId has failed the algorithm check for the corresponding PartyId type.

Guidance:

This error “CMN.ATO.GEN.500162” signals that the Party ID mismatches the expected type or fails the ATO validation checking. This prevents unauthorized or erroneous submissions by ensuring that unique identifiers align with ATO records.

Party ID refers to the specific type of identifier submitted in a lodgment request, such as Tax File Number (TFN) for individuals, Australian Business Number (ABN) for entities, registered Tax Agent Number (TAN)  for tax agents, or other codes. ATO applies a mathematical checksum algorithm to validate its format and integrity during the transmission.

To resolve the issue, you need to check and verify if the Party ID is matching official sources (e.g. ATO) versus to the data input in LodgeiT client settings.

If issue still persists, please do the following:

  • Send us the screenshot of client details from ATO portal (showing the TFN, ABN and tax agent number)
  • Provide the tax form URL in LodgeiT. Here is how - Tax Form URL
