The SBR.GEN.AUTH.006 error typically indicates that the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) cannot authenticate the software connection for the entity being lodged. This is usually caused by mismatched entity details or an incomplete Software ID authorization with the ATO.
User should nominate LodgeiT as one of your SBR Providers.
Must complete settings by clicking to the Gear wheel > Profile,

and update your intermediary i.e. Tax Agent Profile:
FOR TAX AGENT
If you are the signatory of your company, and your company is the intermediary, you must add yourself as a Client so you can then select yourself as the signatory of your company.
Check that you have used the ABN associated with your TAN.
FOR NON-TAX AGENT
1. User must check if ABN and TFN are correct.
2. User must select LodgeiT as software provider for each client.
Common Cause
Ensure that the entity details recorded in LodgeiT match exactly with the details held by the ATO, particularly:
- ABN
- Entity Name
- Other registration details
Even minor differences may prevent successful authentication.
Guide: Nominate LodgeiT as your SBR Partner
Verify the Correct LodgeiT Entity
When checking the Software ID connection in LodgeiT, be aware of the following:
Main Profile Name vs Trading Name
The Name field in the main LodgeiT profile settings is the entity name that appears in the ATO Software ID registration.
Example:
Main Profile Name: ABC Business Company
Trading Name: Ram Car Experts
The trading name may appear as an abbreviation or initials on your LodgeiT dashboard (for example, RCE), but the ATO Software ID connection is linked to the Main Profile Name, not the trading name.
Important
- Verify that you are checking the correct client/entity.
- Avoid creating multiple clients with the same or very similar names.
- Confirm that the Software ID is connected to the correct entity before attempting another lodgment.
