What is CMN.ATO.AS.EM063
This error occurs when your activity statement cannot be lodged because its status with the ATO is either:
- Already lodged,
- Pending processing,
- Cancelled, or
- Discontinued.
Why does this happen?
The ATO will not accept a lodgement if the activity statement is not in the correct status for lodgement. This prevents duplicate or incorrect lodgements.
How to fix it in LodgeiT
1. Check Activity Statement Status
- Log into the ATO online portal and check the status of the specific activity statement (BAS/IAS).
- Confirm if it is lodged, pending, cancelled, or discontinued.
2. If the Activity Statement is Lodged
- You cannot lodge the same statement again through LodgeiT.
- To make changes, lodge an amendment directly via the ATO portal or contact the ATO for variation instructions.
- LodgeiT allows revisions only if the original BAS is in LodgeiT and there are no PAYGI variation values.
3. If the Activity Statement is Pending or Cancelled
- Delete the activity statement form from LodgeiT (ensure it is unlocked), then re-pull the activity statements from the ATO:
a. Go to the client in LodgeiT,
b. Add a new Activity Statement form,
c. Click "Pull activity statements here" to refresh data from the ATO.
- This will ensure you have the latest valid form ready for lodgement.
4. If You Need to Lodge a Variation or Instalment Change Past Due Date, lodge variations or changes directly via the ATO portal, as LodgeiT cannot lodge these past due dates.
Tips for Avoiding the Error
- Ensure your client’s ABN/TFN and other credentials are correctly set in LodgeiT.
- Use the automated activity statement collection feature for automatic BAS/IAS retrieval.
- Regularly synchronize your LodgeiT database with the ATO (at least every 5-7 days).
- Avoid lodging duplicate BAS forms for the same period.
