Question: Why does the "Replacement asset roll-over" exemption is not reducing the capital gain in the CGT Schedule?

Suggested Answer:

1. To declare the "Replacement asset roll-overs" exemption, then you need to leave $0 at Capital proceeds and only record the exemption code. This is the only way ATO allows to record "Replacement asset roll-overs".

1.1 Go to Income > Capital Gains. Answer YES at Label 18G. Click "Add worksheet" to add the asset.

1.2 Please fill-out the CGT worksheet as per sample details below. Important to fill-up is the "Exemption or rollover code" and the "Capital Proceeds" as "0" digit (zero digit).

2. Additionally, you can also fill Additional Information schedule, it is sent to ATO too (but text only). You can see the the "Additional Information for the the ATO (Other Attachments Schedule)" in Page 1 bottom part (related guide: Additional Information / Notes for the ATO) .
